People who own coastal Orange County homes get to live full-time in one of California’s most popular vacation destinations. So a staycation is a great option, especially this year when travel is difficult. Instead of the bother of packing up the car or getting through airport security, make a list of places you’ve always wanted to visit but haven’t had a chance to get to yet. Of course, people living in coastal Orange County know that some of the main attractions in the area are restaurants. After a day of hanging out on the beach or at one of the amazing museums, you’ll want to head out somewhere special to eat. The Five Crowns in Corona del Mar is a local favorite and is actually a copy of one of England’s oldest inns. Sit back and relax in the old world atmosphere while eating delicious, farm-to-table dishes.
People From Coastal Orange County Homes Enjoy Amazing Steak Dinners
Start your meal with one of the appetizers, salad or soup. There’s jumbo shrimp cocktail, as well as farmers’ market tempura. If you’re craving greens, you can’t go wrong with the Pride of the Crowns salad--a bed of butter lettuce, piled with bacon, toasted walnuts, and gruyere, then drizzled with herbes de Provence dressing.
The main event at the Five Crowns is the steak. The preparation has been passed down for four generations. Depending on how hungry you are, choose between the 6-ounce California cut, the 6.5-ounce English cut, the 10-ounce Crown cut, or the 23-ounce Henry VIII cut. Whichever cut you choose, you’ll get au jus, Yorkshire pudding, whipped, creamed horseradish, and your choice of two of the following: Lawry’s creamed corn, Lawry’s creamed spinach, or mashed potatoes.
Round out your meal with a glass of wine or a signature cocktail. Save room for one of the fabulous homemade desserts.
If you’re planning to eat at the Five Crowns, reservations are recommended. You can also order take out or delivery to coastal Orange County homes.
