Ready, set and get running to the 2023 SDCCU Orange County Marathon Running Festival. Hitting the track near Orange County Coastal homes, May 5th through 7th, a whole range of activities are planned including the OC Lifestyle and Fitness Expo, Celebrate OC Festival, Kids Run the OC, the Celebrate OC 5K, and the SDCCU Orange County Full and Half Marathons.
The OC Lifestyle and Fitness Expo kicks off the weekend Friday, May 5th at the Orange County Fair and Event Center from 4 to 8 p.m. and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants in both the half and full marathons are required to stop in and pick up race packets, bibs, timing chips and shirts during this event.
Saturday morning at the OC Fair and Event Center youngsters steal the spotlight early from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the Kids Run OC event. The Celebrate OC Festival will be in full swing as well with food, drink, live music, vendor booths, sports demonstrations, exhibits and high energy all around. With free admission the festival provides affordable entertainment for families living in Orange County Coastal homes. Runners in the Celebrate OC 5K head to the starting line for a 5:30 p.m. race time starting and finishing in front of the YAAMAVA stage.
When the sun rises on Sunday morning so do the runners for the full and half marathons beginning at 5:30 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. respectively. Newport Coast real estate is center stage with Newport Beach’s Fashion Island serving as the starting point. Runners in the full marathon traverse the course through the five cities of Newport Beach, Irvine, Santa Ana and Costa Mesa. Half marathoners run over 10 miles in Newport Beach before heading to the shared finish line at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa.
Participants and spectators alike will have the ultimate good time at this worthwhile annual event. Don’t miss it!
