Celebrate the roots of coastal Orange County living by attending the Cypress Community Festival. This annual festival takes place on the last Saturday of every July and occurs to celebrate the incorporation of the city of Cypress. This city originally included more cows than people and was known as Dairy City. This year the festival will take place on July 27th, 2019 at Oak Knoll Park. This event is put together by the Cypress Community Festival Association in conjunction with residents of Cypress, the City of Cypress, the Cypress Kiwanis, and Friends of Cypress Recreation and Parks.
Orange County Living Is at Its Finest at the Day-Long Celebration
Come out to the park between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the day of the festival to take part in the activities. The schedule is jam packed with fun for the whole family, starting with the Cypress 5k/10k Run/Walk and pancake breakfast. There will be many booths offering delicious food and goods for purchase. Take some amazing handmade items back to your coastal Orange County home for yourself or as gifts. Anyone living in the area that would like to have a booth can fill out an application. There are many categories available including craft/artisan booth, game booth (for non-profit organizations to be set up in the children’s area), information booth for non-profit organizations, food booth, independent specialty booth, and business expo booth.
A few other special events at this festival are the Chili and Salsa Competition and the coloring contest. Make your finest chili and salsa to show off your culinary skills. Children in grades kindergarten through third grade were given a coloring contest entry form before school ended. They did their best work and it will be on display at the festival. Winners will receive their rewards on festival day. Come admire their efforts. Read more about the Cypress Community Festival and plan a fun day celebrating coastal Orange County living.
