Learn about agriculture and how it relates to coastal Orange County living at Centennial Farm. Explore this three acre working farm that is home to a variety of fruits, vegetables and animals. The farm has been in operation for 30 years. The goal is to educate youth about agriculture and why it is so important. Admission to the farm is free and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. Centennial Farm is located at the OC Fair and Event Center at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa, CA. There are general parking spaces available, but it is recommended to carpool or take public transportation if possible.

In addition to visiting on your own, this is a great place to schedule a field trip or take garden classes. School tours can be scheduled from late September through early June. There is not a summer program, but Kids Days do occur on Thursdays during the annual OC Fair. Garden classes are intended for those 16 years and over and can be a great tool for learning how to grow fruits and vegetables at your coastal Orange County home. Classes generally begin at 9:30 a.m. and last for about 1.5 or 2 hours.
Anyone 18 and over who enjoys agriculture and working with children can consider volunteering at Centennial Farm. Help children in kindergarten through third grade explore the world around them, understand where our food comes from, and make the most of coastal Orange County living. Since field trips are free, volunteers are very important to keep this operation up and running. Call 714.708.1619 or send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org if interested in volunteering.
