People living in coastal Orange County go to the Festival of Whales.The ocean plays a huge role in living in coastal Orange County. Come celebrate it and all of its creatures at the Dana Point Festival of Whales. This event has already taken place one weekend, but will also be happening March 14th and 15th, 2020. This is the 49th year of this festival and many families living in coastal Orange County make it a tradition every year.

Everyone Living in Coastal Orange County Will Learn About Ocean Life

There will be something for all ages and interests and it should be a great way to welcome the coming of spring by spending time outdoors. Events taking place only on Saturday, March 14th include the Cardboard Classic Dinghy Dash and Expo at Baby Beach, Boat Builders’ Brekky and BBQ on the Beach, Whale of a Beach Cleanup, and the 9th Annual Clam Chowder Cook Off at Baby Beach Park.

Events taking place both Saturday and Sunday include the Dana Point Fine Arts Association Show and Sale, Kids’ Fun Zone, British Invasion on the Harbor walkway, Marine Mammal Lecture Series at Harpoon Henry’s, visiting the Ocean Institute Education Center, and the Harbor Music Series at Dana Wharf and Mariners Village.

Events taking place only on Sunday include Just Havin’ Fun Car Club Show, Dana Hills High School and San Juan Hills High School Young Artists Show and Sale, Whale of a Concert on the Water, Whale of a Concert BBQ and Spirits Garden, and Kids Fishing Clinic and Trip. In addition to these, there are several opportunities for whale watching throughout each day.
