That means that it’s time for parents to start thinking about after school activities. The cool thing about owning Newport Beach real estate is that the city provides tons of great classes, sports, and activities for kids to get involved in. Working parents especially will appreciate the Active Kids Afterschool program. It is held at three locations--the Community Youth Center, Mariners, and Newport Elementary School.

Kids from Newport Beach Homes Can Do Sports, Music, and Art Classes

The fall program begins on August 23rd and runs through December 17th. Activities begin when school lets out and continue through 6 p.m. The program is closed on holidays observed by City Hall and the school district. Kids will be able to get homework help as well as play outdoors with their friends. They are supervised by qualified and caring counselors. Other activities include structured games, arts and crafts, movies, and reading time. A fall pass costs $360 and an annual pass costs $1080.

If you don’t need after school care, be sure to check out the other offerings for kids. If you have a kid who likes to climb and jump around, look into gymnastics and tumbling classes. These are offered for kids ages 5 to 12 at three levels. Kids can also join a volleyball or basketball team. Those who want to build skills in several different sports can take a multi-sport program and do baseball, basketball, and soccer. Martial arts are also offered. Kids ages 5 to 17 can take judo and jujitsu, and both kids and adults can take karate.
